| In 2021, the Bill Sutherland ’67 Humanitarian Award was created by the Sutherland family in honor of Bill Sutherland, our legendary coach, administrator, teacher, and athlete. The award is presented each year at our annual Sports Hall of Fame, one of Bill’s favorite Notre Dame events. Bill himself was selected for induction into the Notre Dame High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995 – he is the only Hall of Fame member to have the dual distinction of both athlete and coach. This year, Jim Sutherland has been selected as the 5th Annual Bill Sutherland ’67 Humanitarian Award recipient for his long time contributions and dedication to Notre Dame High School and her students. Jim is a class of 1986 graduate of Notre Dame, served as a board member for five years and board president for 3. Jim is active in fundraising and served as chairman of our Annual Golf, Tennis & Bocce Tournament for many years. Jim will join fellow award recipients listed below in receiving this award presented by the Sutherland family.
