That’s where our Spring Cash Raffle comes in.
🎟️ One lucky winner will walk away with a $5,000 cash prize!
🎉 Our top-selling student will win a $200 gift card to the retailer of their choice!

The raffle is open to everyone—alumni, friends, family, neighbors, and supporters near and far. If you’ve ever sweated through a test, this is your chance to help future students stay cool and focused.

🗓️ Ticket sales will be accepted until 9:00 AM on April 30.
🎤 The winning ticket will be drawn by a student that afternoon, at the end of the school day!

Let’s make this the coolest cafeteria in town. Spread the word, grab your tickets, and support a great cause. Together, we can turn up the fun—and turn down the temperature!

Thank you for helping our school stay cool—in more ways than one! 😎

What is a Notre Dame Education?

2/21/2025

A Notre Dame Education is more than just academics; it’s a holistic approach that nurtures intellectual growth, faith formation, and real-world preparedness. Rooted in Catholic values, students are empowered to excel academically while developing moral character, leadership skills, and a strong sense of service.

Academic Excellence: Meeting and Exceeding NYS Diploma Requirements
Students at Notre Dame receive a rigorous academic experience that aligns with the New York State (NYS) diploma requirements, ensuring they graduate with the skills and knowledge necessary for success. These requirements include:
  • English (4 Credits)
  • Mathematics (3 Credits)
  • Science (3 Credits)
  • Social Studies (4 Credits)
  • World Languages (1 Credit)
  • Health (0.5 Credit)
  • Arts (1 Credit)
  • Physical Education (2 Credits)
  • Electives (3.5 Credits)
  • Completion of Regents Exams in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one additional subject
ND goes beyond these minimum requirements, offering Advanced Placement (AP) and dual-credit courses that challenge students to engage in college-level learning while still in high school, enhancing students’ readiness for higher education.

All students are required to carry a minimum of 6 credits per a year and must successfully complete 26 credits (versus NYS' 22) to earn a Notre Dame High School Diploma. Notre Dame students complete at least one religious studies course per year and are required to complete at least three credits of world language.

Faith-Based Learning and Religious Studies
A Notre Dame Education is rooted in Catholic teachings. Students participate in religious studies courses including Catholic Citizenship, The Bible, World Religions, Catholic Social Teaching, and LEAD in Faith. This curriculum helps students develop a strong moral compass, guiding them in making ethical decisions throughout their lives.

Christian Service and Community Engagement
Faith in action is a key component of the Notre Dame education. Students are encouraged to live out their beliefs through Christian service projects, volunteering in their communities, and participating in mission-driven activities. These experiences foster empathy, social responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world.

Class Retreats: A Time for Reflection and Growth
All Notre Dame students participate in spiritual retreats that provide an opportunity for self-reflection, personal growth, and deepening of their faith. These retreats help students strengthen their relationship with God and build strong bonds with their peers in a supportive, faith-filled environment.

Real-World Life Skills for Future Success
Beyond academics and faith formation, a Notre Dame education includes essential real-world life skills such as:
  • Financial literacy – Budgeting, saving, and responsible money management
  • Public speaking and communication – Developing confidence in expressing ideas effectively
  • Leadership and teamwork – Preparing students to take on leadership roles in college and beyond
  • Independent Living Skills – Including sewing, preparing taxes, changing a tire, and making a meal! Our seniors help us determine the curriculum for their final course- Senior Skills- so no one leaves saying, "I wish I learned that in high school!"

Why Choose a Notre Dame Education?
A Notre Dame Education prepares students not only for academic success but also for a life of faith, service, and leadership. By combining strong academics, faith-based learning, service opportunities, retreats, and essential life skills, Notre Dame cultivates well-rounded individuals ready to make a difference in the world.

Whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or engaging in service-based careers, Notre Dame graduates leave with the confidence, knowledge, and moral foundation to navigate life’s challenges with faith and purpose.

Notre Dame celebrates Catholic Schools Week 2025

2/2/2025

Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School had an amazing week celebrating our choice to attend a Catholic school! Below is an excerpt from the ND Weekly News- a Friday publications sent to parents of current students, as well as some photos from our week:
As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, I am filled with gratitude for all we shared as a school community this week. No doubt about it, our academics are important, but it is special days like this one, that remind me of the value in taking a break from the usual.
Throughout this week, our students participated in meaningful experiences that strengthened their faith and deepened their connection with one another. Class retreats provided moments for reflection and spiritual growth, while our schoolwide prayer service at the start of the week and Mass at the end of the week, brought us together in worship and thanksgiving for the opportunity to attend Notre Dame.
It was truly inspiring to witness our students living out the values we are working so hard to instill at Notre Dame. This unique activity day allowed students in all grade levels to interact with each other. Each time I saw a student help another up off the ice or watched as students cheered each other on in our gym, I was reminded that these are the days we build community, comradery, and character.
I am so grateful for the dedicated teachers and staff of Notre Dame who continue to go above and beyond for our students. Thank you to everyone (pictured and not!) who make every day a special one at Notre Dame!

Finally, thank you to our parents who made the choice to send your children to Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School. May we carry the spirit of Catholic Schools Week forward, continuing to grow in faith, knowledge, and love.

Sincerely,
Lindsay Warner, '01
Principal

Notre Dame families share testimonials during Catholic Schools Weeks

Rhys Tanner, '25

Our son is very mature for his age and has done very well in his studies.  Because of his involvement in student government, hockey and other extracurricular activities as well as being associated with a school that has a solid Christian tradition, our son has been offered full tuition scholarships to two of the private universities that he applied to.  He will graduate high school with over 36 hours of college credit which will allow him to graduate with a bachelor's degree in 3 years.  Between the scholarship and already having a year of transferable credits allowing him to graduate in 3 years, this represents around $170,000 of savings for his bachelor's degree he will be pursuing.  His time at Notre Dame is laying down a solid foundation for a successful adult life.

Our children, as well as all of the students at ND, are supported, yet challenged to be the best students they can be. One of our favorite attributes is that students are held accountable for their learning, time management, and organization. These are life skills they need to be successful. The standards are set high and the student success both academically and athletically speaks for itself.

Our experience at Notre Dame has been excellent. I am a 1997 graduate of NDHS and then continued to be part of the school as the varsity cheerleading coach for 4 years (Michelle). Vinny has coached modified, JV and currently varsity girls basketball at NDHS. Our 2 daughters, Gianna and Sofia, thrive at Notre Dame. The school provides an environment that instills values, faith, good character, and a strong education while holding students accountable in a small learning environment. It is a "family" like atmosphere where the teachers and administration are engaged in both academics and athletics.

Aydn Horzempa, '26

Aydn's Notre Dame journey started his freshman year. After being homeschooled his entire elementary and middle school years it was tough trying decide where he would flourish. Well it didn't take long at all for Aydn to fit right in and start to excel. The faculty and staff were fantastic in helping him get adjusted. He has maintained excellent grades and is thriving at Notre Dame.

He has grown as a young man and as a student. I believe the teachers have had a great impact on him caring about his grades and work.

"I love coming to Notre Dame every day, seeing teachers and my classmates. It makes me feel comfortable."

Notre dame has provided a structured environment to develop critical thinking skills. And build confidence through achievement and social interaction. Notre Dame also provides faith and strong education. Notre Dame has impacted my life in so many ways I’ve learned a lot of new things and made some great friends along the way it’s where I get to challenge myself and grow everyday.

Grady Liebler, '30

Our experience has been wonderful from receiving the acceptance letter to having a blast at the Meat Raffle. But one thing that stands out is when I attended parent/teacher conferences with my son Grady Liebler. And on numerous occasions I received the greatest compliment for my son..."Grady is a wonderful addition to Notre Dame" ❤️☘️

Our son Grady is just in his first year at Notre Dame but having experienced the culture of N.D. and being introduced to Catholic Citizenship is a blessing. His faith in God is real. And since joining the Notre Dame family his confidence within himself is grown. God told me to make a change for my son, I'm glad I listened.
