Athletics
Athlete’s Prayer
God, let me play well but fairly.
Let competition make me strong but never hostile.
Forbid me to rejoice in the adversity of others.
See me not when I am cheered, but when I bend to help my opponent up.
If I know victory, allow me to be happy;
if I am denied, keep me from envy.
Remind me that sports are just games.
Help me to learn something that matters once the game is over.
And if through athletics I set an example, let it be a good one.

Notre Dame has a long standing reputation of athletic excellence in the region that we are very proud of. We believe our athletic program helps develop our students into well rounded individuals and complements their scholastic skills by teaching them to be competitive and excel in their sport and in the classroom.
Notre Dame offers additional sports that are not readily available in all of the local public schools. This provides our students with opportunities to compete in a sport that they may not have had the opportunity otherwise. The students encourage one another to participate in our athletic programs, which builds unity and teamwork from within. Every student becomes a contributing member of the team!
Notre Dame athletic teams have enjoyed many years of success and we believe the unity and teamwork has overcome lack of talent on many championship teams.
